REPS ADOPT HON. BETHEL AMADI’S MOTION FOR REPAIR OF EKEMELE JUNCTION OF OWERRI - OKIGWE HIGHWAY

The House of Representatives in its plenary session on Thursday November 8, 2012 adopted a motion sponsored by His Excellency Hon. Bethel N. Amadi, member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, calling on the Federal Emergency Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) to as a matter of urgency, commence immediate rehabilitation of the damaged portions of the Owerri – Okigwe Highway. Moving the motion on the floor of the House, Hon. Bethel N. Amadi observed that Owerri Okigwe Federal Highway is an ever busy highway which connects the capital city of Imo State, Owerri, to other parts of Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi and Abia State. Hon. Bethel Amadi noted that the Akabo Community portion of the Highway, especially, Ekemele Market junction of the Federal Highway has been badly damaged by erosion and heavy rainfall thereby creating big gullies on the road. HON NKODO DANG EMERGES NEW PAP PRESIDENT His Excellency, Hon. Nkodo Dang Roger of Cameroon has emerged the new President   of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) in a keenly contested election following the expiration of the tenure of Nigeria’s Hon. Bethel Amadi. A total of three candidates presented themselves for the election namely: Hon. Edwardo Joaquim Mulembwe   (Mozambique), Hon. Roger   Nkodo Dang (Cameroon) and Hon. Raboui Mongi (Tunisia). Hon. Nkodo Dang secured the highest number of votes amongst the contestants and was therefore declared the winner of the election. He was immediately congratulated by the two other contestants who pledged to cooperate and work with him in the spirit of “One Africa, One Voice”. In his acceptance speech, Hon. Ezinne Nneoma Comfort Maduagwu set for burial on Friday June 14

The remains of Late Ezinne Nneoma Comfort Onyemaechi Maduagwu of Umuayalu, Egbu in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State will be laid to rest on Friday June 14, 2019  after a funeral service at the All Saints Anglican Cathedral Church, Egbu, Owerri by 11 am. Late Ezinne Nneoma Comfort Onyemaechi Maduagwu is survived by Rt. Hon. Nnaemeka Maduagwu , a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, other children,grnd children, sister, auntie and in laws.  Other funeral arrangements are as announced by the family.
