The President of Pan African Parliament (PAP), His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi has called on African countries to take immediate steps to ensure the ratification, domestication and implementation of The African Union Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance; The African Charter on Values and Principles of Public Service and Administration; and the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption. The member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency and President of Pan African Parliament, His Excellency Rt. Hon Bethel Nnaemeka Amadi on Tuesday November 20, 2012 inspected the road rehabilitation project of the damaged portions of the Owerri-Okigwe Highway. It would be recalled that on Thursday November 8, 2012 the House of Representatives passed a motion sponsored by Hon Bethel Amadi mandating FERMA and the Federal Ministry of Works to as a matter of urgency, repair the damaged portion of the Owerri-Okigwe Federal Highway. In moving the motion on the floor of the House of Representatives H.E. Hon. Bethel Amadi expressed concern that the deplorable state of this very important highway has been causing frequent road accidents, which has resulted in the loss of lives and properties.
