HIS EXCELLENCY, HON. BETHEL AMADI HANDS-OVER CLASSROOM BLOCK AT AKABO HIGH SCHOOL



A modern classroom block built at Akabo High School, Ikeduru by the Member representing Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and President of the Pan African Parliament His Excellency, Hon. Barr. Bethel Amadi and his wife, lady Barr. Mabel Amadi have been commissioned by the Anglican Bishop of the Diocese of Ikeduru, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwuike. Speaking during the handing-over ceremony, Hon. Barr. Bethel Amadi, stated that the classroom block was constructed in memory of his late parents, Eugene and Comfort Amadi and recalled with nostalgia, that his late mother taught at Akabo High School. Describing education as the key and foundation for all human capital development, Hon. Barr. Bethel Amadi also recalled how he worked with  his colleagues in the House of Representatives to ensure the passage of the Universal Basic Education Act in 2004 which made education free and compulsory from primary school up to junior secondary school level.  He then noted that the future of our society depended on the quality of education which our children receive.
Commissioning the classroom block, the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Ikeduru, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Maduwuike thanked Hon. Barr. Bethel Amadi and his wife for their great duty and commitment to the Diocese of Ikeduru, describing Barr. Bethel Amadi as a silent achiever who does not believe in blowing his trumpet. He noted that the classroom block would go a long way in alleviating the accommodation problem at the school and also seized opportunity to thank Hon. Bethel Amadi for also citing a Computer Resource Centre which is nearing completion at the School.

HON NKODO DANG EMERGES NEW PAP PRESIDENT His Excellency, Hon. Nkodo Dang Roger of Cameroon has emerged the new President   of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) in a keenly contested election following the expiration of the tenure of Nigeria’s Hon. Bethel Amadi. A total of three candidates presented themselves for the election namely: Hon. Edwardo Joaquim Mulembwe   (Mozambique), Hon. Roger   Nkodo Dang (Cameroon) and Hon. Raboui Mongi (Tunisia). Hon. Nkodo Dang secured the highest number of votes amongst the contestants and was therefore declared the winner of the election. Ezinne Nneoma Comfort Maduagwu set for burial on Friday June 14

The remains of Late Ezinne Nneoma Comfort Onyemaechi Maduagwu of Umuayalu, Egbu in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State will be laid to rest on Friday June 14, 2019  after a funeral service at the All Saints Anglican Cathedral Church, Egbu, Owerri by 11 am. Late Ezinne Nneoma Comfort Onyemaechi Maduagwu is survived by Rt. Hon. Nnaemeka Maduagwu , a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, other children,grnd children, sister, auntie and in laws.  Other funeral arrangements are as announced by the family.
