HIS EXCELLENCY, HON. BETHEL AMADI COMMISERATES WITH THE FAMILIES OF THE VICTIMS OF THE FALLEN TREE IN UMUDAGU, MBIERI
The Member representing
Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and
President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP), His Excellency Hon. Bethel
Nnaemeka Amadi has received with a deep sense of loss, the sad news of the
death of a number of persons when the big tree popularly known and referred to
as “Ukwu Ukor” located in Ihitte Mbieri Autonomous Community in Mbaitoli Local
Government Area fell on them as a result of heavy wind.
In a press release issued by
his Special Assistant, Sir Oluchukwu Ibekwe, Hon. Bethel Amadi expressed regret that the “Ukor” tree
fell down at a very busy period of the evening when economic activity was at
its peak for the residents of the area. Hon. Bethel Amadi recalled that “Ukwu
Ukor” had for quite a long time, served as the economic rallying point for the
residents including motor-cycle operators who used the spot as their base,
hence the number of casualties.
Describing the death of such
a number of Mbaitoli residents as very painful, Hon. Bethel Amadi prayed for
God to grant the souls of the departed, eternal rest even as He imbues us with
the requisite strength and wisdom to cope with the pains of this very tragic
experience.
On behalf of the good people of Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru Federal
Constituency, Hon. Bethel Amadi extended his condolences to the families of the
diseased persons, the Eze-in-Council, the Town Union Executive and the entire
people of Ihitte Mbieri Autonomous Community as well as the Mbieri Clan and
Mbaitoli Local Government Area.
