HON. BETHEL AMADI VISITS PRESIDENT OF BOTSWANA

The President of Pan-African Parliament (PAP, His Excellency Bethel N. Amadi visited Botswana on Monday 22 July 2013, and paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of Botswana, H.E Ian Khama, at his office in Gaborone. The President of PAP, Bethel Amadi briefed the Botswanaian leader about the progress made on the review process of the Protocol establishing the Pan-African Parliament and explained the need for amending the Protocol. Furthermore, Hon. Amadi advocated for support from Botswana in the transformation of PAP. “The protocol establishing PAP was adopted in 2000 and was now being reviewed with a view to enhance the functions of PAP. A draft amended protocol only gave the PAP legislative functions and not legislative powers”. Amadi Said. Amadi, on Tuesday 02 July 2013, paid a courtesy call on President of the Republic of Namibia, H.E Hifikepunye Pohamba at the State House in Wendheok.
