ยท CHAIRMAN - LEGISLATIVE INITIATIVE FOR EDUCATION (LIFE) - Restructuring of the Universal Basic Education Proposal As Founder and Co-coordinator of Legislative Initiative for Education (LIFE) consisting of Legislators championing the reform of Nigeria's education system, Hon Bethel Amadi worked with his team of legislators to restructure, redefine, strengthen and expand the substantive provisions of the Universal Basic Education Act. The Universal Basic Education (UBE) Programme was launched by the Federal Republic of Nigeria to eradicate illiteracy, ignorance and poverty as well as stimulate and accelerate national development, political consciousness and national integration. However the implementation process of the programme was hampered by lack of an enabling law to execute certain aspects of the programme.
